SHOE ROTATION

If you know me even a little, you’ve probably noticed my deep love for shoes. They are more than just functional items; they can be the centerpiece of an outfit. Shoes have the power to set the tone —elevating it to elegant or grounding it in casual comfort. They can be a source of confidence, a conversation starter, or, admittedly, a source of pain.

In today’s world, sneakers have become the go-to choice for most people. Their practicality, versatility, and undeniable comfort make them a staple in countless wardrobes. But if you ask me, my shoe rotation goes far beyond the typical pair of sneakers. Each shoe I wear carries its own story and purpose, reflecting my mood, my plans, or simply what feels right in the moment.

So, I thought it would be fun to share a little into my weekly shoe rotation—what I typically wear during a workweek. And while I’m at it, I’ll also take you on a tour of my closet, highlighting some of my favorite pairs that don’t get worn as often as they deserve.

I should start by mentioning that I ride a motorbike to work every day, which is always at the top of my mind when choosing my shoes for the day. Comfort is key, of course, but I also enjoy wearing shoes that stand out—pairs you won’t find on everyone’s feet or in every store. For sneakers, I gravitate toward styles that resemble bowling shoes, as they add a touch of fun and feel just a little more elegant than your typical All-Stars.

Another type of shoe I couldn’t live without is loafers. This week, I wore a couple of my favorite pairs: a classic burgundy loafer and my carpenter loafers, which always remind me of my school years. Back then, I wore similar styles every day as part of my uniform, and while I hated them at the time, I’ve grown to appreciate their charm. They’re a refreshing alternative to more common styles and add a nostalgic touch.

And, of course, we can’t skip over boots. They’re an incredible shoe that checks so many boxes—they’re warm, comfortable, stylish, and perfect for any season, whether winter or summer. Aside from ballet flats and loafers, boots are undoubtedly a cornerstone of my wardrobe.

But while I love these practical, everyday choices, there’s another side to my collection—shoes that may not see the sun as often but are nonetheless deeply special to me.

One of my most treasured pairs are my Margiela Tabi ballet flats. There’s something about their iconic split-toe design that feels both timeless and cool. They’re not just shoes—they’re a statement.

Then there are the white loafers, a bold and unconventional choice. Their slightly eccentric vibe makes them stand out, and I love how they add a touch of personality to an otherwise simple outfit.

Another favorite is my orange Camper clogs. Quirky and playful, they’re the kind of shoe that instantly brightens your mood—and your wardrobe. They’re perfect for those days when I feel like stepping outside the norm.

And finally, I have to mention my vintage Prada silver ballet flats. With their metallic sheen and timeless silhouette, they’re an absolute gem. Wearing them feels like stepping into another era, where elegance and simplicity ruled.

While these pairs may not be part of my daily rotation, each one holds a unique charm that makes them truly special. They remind me that shoes are more than just a practical necessity—they’re a reflection of creativity, emotion, and personal style.
