REDISCOVERING CREATIVITY
This week’s post feels a little different. The idea behind it wasn’t as clear in my head as it usually is, but maybe that’s exactly what makes it special. I’ll give you some context. Normally, I have a clear concept, and then I plan how to develop the visual content—whether it’s a single picture, a gallery, videos, or whatever feels right for the idea.
But this time, I wanted to create something for myself, something that wasn’t my usual content shot with my iPhone, about fashion or clothing. I wanted to bring back my old camera—the one I’ve had since I was 15. The one that made me fall in love with the audiovisual world in the first place. The one that has been sitting in a drawer ever since I moved to Barcelona, and for some reason, I felt like it was time to use it again.
So, at 8:00 PM, with no big plans, I decided to create something just for the fun of it. I grabbed my camera, set up a tiny “set” (if you can call it that), and started gathering objects from around the house. Random things that have been here for years or just a few weeks. Things with no particular connection, except for the simple fact that I like them.
I was taking the pictures and realized I often forget to do things that bring me joy. Life moves so fast that we stop paying attention to the things that make us happy. We usually can take them for granted—just like we take for granted that life will keep moving forward, whether we’re truly living it or not.
Sometimes, happiness can be as simple as taking a moment to pause, to play or to create. For me, it was setting up a camera and photographing objects from around the house. It could be something completely different for any other person. But the point is that joy doesn’t have to be big, elaborate, or even planned. It can be as small as doing something that excites you, no matter how ordinary it seems.
So here’s to finding happiness in the little things—and reminding ourselves that sometimes, all it takes is stopping for a moment.
