IS A MINIMAL OUTFIT COMPLETE WITHOUT JEWELRY? – with Moliane.
If you’ve been following me for a while, you might have noticed that I’m not the biggest jewelry lover. I feel the need to keep it as minimal as possible, and also, I have a bit of a thing when it comes to combining pieces in a way that most people don’t see a problem with, which I find a bit odd.
For example, I do not like to wear my regular frames if I’m wearing large hoops, or wear big earrings with a necklace. I’ve found that sometimes less is more, and one piece is more than enough to make it interesting. But there is something very clear and specific: while I try to keep my outfits minimal, sometimes I could use a little special accessory to add more depth and dimension to the style.
So, for today’s article, I feature 5 accessories from Moliane, a Barcelona-based brand that translates the Mediterranean aesthetic into jewelry that adds something special and different to any basic outfit. The brand focuses on pieces with a sculptural feel, nothing too loud, but never boring. There’s a strong attention to texture, organic shapes, and imperfect finishes that make each piece feel almost like a small object rather than just an accessory. It feels intentional, and very much in line with that effortless Mediterranean way of dressing; simple, but never plain.
Now, about the looks.
The first one is probably the simplest of all: an all-black fitted outfit that feels clean and sharp. On its own, it’s almost too simple, but adding a subtle bangle gives it just enough contrast without breaking the minimal mood. It doesn’t try too hard, it just completes it.
The second look introduces a bit more softness, a navy knit with a beige skirt. Here, the jewelry works differently. Instead of blending in, it becomes the focal point. A statement earring, for example, brings light to the face and elevates the whole look without needing anything else.
Then there’s the more casual, everyday combination: denim and a textured shirt. This is where I think these pieces work best—when the outfit is almost basic, and the accessory quietly works with the textures of the pieces, making it more interesting.
The grey halter dress feels more feminine and fluid, and the jewelry here follows that same energy. Something delicate but with character, adding a subtle shine that moves with the fabric.
In the end, it’s not really about adding more, but about choosing better. The right piece doesn’t overpower the outfit, it simply becomes part of it—quietly elevating everything without losing that sense of ease. That’s exactly what I look for when it comes to accessories.
