PIECES OF OCTOBER

This month went by so fast that I'm still catching up on it. Some of it honestly felt unreal, and I keep finding myself stopping to think, wait, that actually happened.

It started with seeing one of my oldest friends. She lives in Venezuela and gets married this December, so we wanted to spend time together before the wedding. We ended up in Gran Canaria with our friends, laughing way too much and catching up on everything. It's the kind of time that reminds me how lucky I am to have people like her, even when we're so far apart.

Some of you know I've been freelancing for a few months now. It's a very different world, as I now work with clients outside the fashion industry, where I've spent most of my career, so it's taken some getting used to. Good kind of uncomfortable, though.

Work has been busy in the best way. I got to collaborate with brands I've admired for years, go to events, and meet creators I'd only known from a screen. Some of it still feels a little surreal. It's also a lot of uncertainty. I never know exactly what next month will bring, and I'm still figuring out how to live with that.

I photographed food for the first time. Harder than I thought. Making a plate look good is a lot of work, and I had to rethink how I see things. I also shot an event, which was a new challenge too. I'm proud of how both turned out.

Fashion stayed in the mix. I went to 080 Barcelona Fashion again, this time with SKFK, and I brought one of my closest friends from Barcelona. The show was great. I still get very excited every time I'm invited to something like this.

Then I spent a week in Korea shooting a campaign for another brand. It pushed me, both professionally and personally, in a way I really needed. The culture, the places, the food, all of it. I came back with a lot of ideas.

Korea deserves its own post. There's too much to fit into this one, and I don't want to rush it.

Looking back, what stands out isn't just the list of things I did. It's the friendships, the surprising opportunities, the creative challenges, and the small moments in between. Some weeks were overwhelming, but I'm glad I said yes to most of them.

Next month, I want to slow down a little and actually enjoy the places I'm in. Let's see how that goes.
