SUMMER FAVORITES – With Caterina Iannolo
Caterina has been on my ‘for you page’ and explore section for quite a long time already. Even though I’m not usually the most extroverted person you might know, sometimes I feel like I click with certain people on the internet.
In this case, we’ve followed each other for a while now and have been interacting and engaging with her content. I’ve felt truly inspired by the consistency and determination she has shown over the past few years.
That led me to invite her to collaborate in this blog segment, where she shares her summer recommendations and gives us the chance to get to know her a little more.
When texting Caterina, an immediate coincidence came up; we are both from Venezuela, and neither of us knew it. It hadn’t even crossed my mind, but this made the connection feel even more special, as we continue supporting each other.
She’s a Venezuelan architect and content creator based in Valencia, where she’s been living for quite a long time already. Her deep sense of fashion comes from the beauty of the elements that surround her. She enjoys expressing herself and connecting with like-minded people through her interest in fashion, design, architecture, and photography.
With a very undefined style, Caterina sees her fashion sense as something authentic and not boxed in. Even though she draws inspiration from architectural references; squares, stripes, simplicity, and cleanness. Her style blends the organic with the structured together.
She’s incredibly passionate about her work and starts her days already thinking about what’s ahead and the projects she’s involved in.
Seeking inspiration everywhere — whether it’s on her phone or while going out with her dog, Olivia. Every day can feel different yet somehow the same, filled with content creation from morning to afternoon. Whether it’s organic, collaborative, or paid content, it’s all part of her creative process and everyday life.
After finishing her degree in architecture, she decided to pursue this inner passion for fashion and styling. Following repeated requests from friends and family for advice on what to wear and how to style outfits, she began documenting and sharing it on TikTok, also using the platform as a space to disconnect after completing such a demanding degree.
A little over a year after she started posting regularly on TikTok, she expanded to Instagram and that’s when everything truly took off, leading her to where she is now.
After hearing about her inspiration, background, and future plans, I couldn’t help but share her summer recommendations with you.
She loves having fun with fashion during summertime — dressing in bright colors and textures, big accessories, and mixing different styles.
From wearing hats all day to an improvised dinner with friends, or tapping into her cooking skills to prepare something handmade and enjoy it outdoors — for her, summer is all about playfulness.
Making plans and going on little adventures to the North is one of her favorite things. San Vicente de la Barquera is her safe place to escape Valencia’s heat. Hiking the acantilados route, taking a nap at the beach, and eating fresh oysters. Not to mention the sunsets — “Don’t forget the sunsets”
She also enjoys snorkeling in Jávea and recharging in Cala Sardinera — a place where the water is calm and crystal-clear. Whether lying on the sand or resting on a boat, she always ends the day feeling renewed.
Micro shorts are a must-have for summer — part of the survival kit in Valencia — and the fact that they’re trendy right now makes them even more perfect. Combined with analog memories captured on film, they’ve become part of her summer tradition.
