ANOUK'S FASHION INSIGHTS

Anouk opened a door full of possibilities to me, giving me my first job in Barcelona — and in life, outside of modeling gigs.

Six years later, I can call her one of my most beloved and close friends in Barcelona. We worked together for almost three years in Brandy Melville, and I have to admit I owe her trust in me since day one.

I had no experience, never even served a coffee for someone else, yet she opened the doors for me and trusted that I would be able to learn and be good enough to lead a team and work creatively in what used to be one of my greatest strengths: creating visual displays for retail stores.

In all those years, we not only grew professionally but personally as well, and our friendship aligned with that. It ended up being one of the most like-minded friendships in terms of values and ambitions, even though we come from very far apart parts of the world.

Anouk’s personality is what fascinates me the most — so kind and lovely, yet firm and strong when needed. We share the ability to see through people and to know how to react when things turn messy. She’s a very loyal friend and someone to rely on when scenarios get complicated.

She’s originally from a small town in Costa Brava called Garriguella and has been living in Barcelona since she was 18 years old. She’s always worked in retail but has also shown her fashion interests outside of that — developing rings, sourcing second-hand pieces, and sharing one of the interests we have in common: decorating and giving love to our homes.

With that, something that really fascinates me about Anouk on a daily basis is her cooking skills and how she’s always the designated friend in charge of birthday cakes — and very happy to do so — and they’re pretty delicious, I must say.

When it comes to her personal style, she has a really versatile wardrobe that I’ve seen evolve through the years, yet it keeps the authentic aesthetic of the Mediterranean effortless girl — giving and bringing something special to the table through accessories and unique pieces, and always sourcing from second-hand and thrift shops to show the uniqueness of her look.

From those first days working together to where we stand now, Anouk has remained a steady light – real and full of heart. I can only hope to keep growing alongside friends like her, who male life in this city feel a little more like home.
