MEGUI'S FASHION INSIGHTS
Today’s article feels even more special than usual to me, as the guest is someone I’ve been following for a long time, consuming her content, genuinely taking notes about the fashion industry, and admiring the way she shares her knowledge so naturally that it becomes easy for others to understand and connect with.
Megui is the kind of creator who has stayed true to her own path. Her knowledge of fashion is incredibly profound, yet she shares it in a way that makes you feel as if she’s sitting right there with you. Fashion has always been part of who she is. What started as a dream of working in the industry evolved into a career across some of the world's leading luxury brands, where she gained experience in product and buying. Over time, she realized she wanted a career that reflected all sides of who she is. Today, she combines consulting, entrepreneurship, content creation, and her role in the family business – while embracing her newest and most rewarding chapter; motherhood.
So, you must be wondering, how did we end up meeting? A couple of months ago, we connected during a dinner where we had both been invited by the same brand. I was beyond thrilled, as it was one of the first events I’d ever been invited to, feeling recognised for the work I’d been putting into the blog. Everything felt exciting and completely new.
It was finally time to sit down and enjoy dinner when I realised the seating had already been arranged and, to my surprise, Megui was sitting right in front of me. A true fangirl moment. As someone who’s been a loyal consumer of her content for years, I couldn’t resist telling her how much I admire not only what she does, but the way she does it. We ended up sharing dinner together and had the chance to properly connect. To no surprise, she was just as warm and kind in person as she appears online, and I immediately knew she had to be part of this Fashion Insights segment.
One of the things I enjoyed the most while talking to Megui was realising that her way of approaching fashion isn’t that different from the way she approaches life. There’s no need for grand gestures or extravagant plans. Instead, she finds joy in the little rituals that make everyday moments feel special.
When I asked her what her perfect day off would look like, her answer wasn’t about escaping her routine but rather embracing it. Working out, spending time with her family, enjoying good food, putting together an outfit she feels great in and allowing herself a small indulgence every now and then.
“I genuinely love being at home,” she told me. “Whether that’s setting a beautiful table and inviting people over or simply lying on the sofa watching teenage TV series.”
Of course, every now and then Barcelona calls. Living in the heart of the city means a spontaneous dinner out is often all it takes to make an ordinary weekend feel exciting again.
This is where I’d naturally stop and let the images speak for themselves, because if there’s one thing that defines Megui, it’s the way her personal style feels considered without ever looking overthought.
As we moved the conversation towards personal style, one thing became immediately clear: she isn’t interested in following formulas. If anything, she’s interested in breaking them.
“I’ve always loved playing with contrast,” she explained. “Sometimes it’s so subtle that nobody even notices. I’m naturally drawn to classic silhouettes and timeless patterns, so I like introducing unexpected textures, colours or accessories. It doesn’t always work, but experimenting is the only way to occasionally get it exactly right.”
It’s perhaps that willingness to experiment that makes her style feel so recognisable. Nothing appears forced, yet every look feels intentional.
Talking about wardrobe favourites is almost an impossible task.
Before even attempting to answer, she immediately ruled handbags out of the conversation. “They’re in a category of their own.”
If she had to wear one brand forever, the answer came easily: Prada.
Among all the pieces she owns, one carries a particular emotional weight. A black mohair jacket with jewel buttons and detachable satin cuffs, gifted by her parents for her twenty-ninth birthday.
“I honestly think I’ll still be wearing it when I’m old.”
The conversation naturally shifted towards content creation, something Megui has built with remarkable consistency over the years. In an industry where algorithms constantly encourage creators to chase trends, she’s chosen a different approach.
“My content is very honest, and I think that’s why it works.”
She admitted there’s always the fear of repeating herself or becoming associated with the same topics, but she’s also aware that those boundaries are self-imposed.
“My content represents me, but it doesn’t represent my whole reality.”
I couldn’t help but think that’s probably one of the healthiest perspectives anyone working online can have.
Her definition of luxury has evolved too. Not because she appreciates beautiful things any less, but because she’s become more selective about what truly deserves that label.
“Luxury should always feel exceptional.”
Whether that’s because of craftsmanship, rarity, time, effort or simply the experience itself, she believes luxury is defined by what cannot be easily replicated.
Before finishing, I asked her one last question. What’s more important: the image or the message? Her answer felt surprisingly balanced.
“The image enhances the message, and I think images with meaning are incredibly important. But I also believe beauty can exist simply for the sake of being beautiful. Not everything needs a deeper explanation.”
And somehow, I think that idea perfectly sums up not only her relationship with fashion, but also the way she communicates it
